Changuu Island, also known as Prison Island, is approximately 30 minutes ride by boat from the shore of Stone Town. In this tour we are going to explore the history of Island, Including why it got those four common names.

Hisorically the island was once owned by an Arab and was intended to be used for the incarceration of recalcitrant slaves, but no prisoners were ever imprisoned; instead, the island became a quarantine camp during yellow fever epidemics.General Lloyd Mathews purchased it, and the jail that still remains in the present was established in 1893, earning the name "Prison Island".

Then we will turn to second side of Island where tortoises sanctuary found, So there we will rcplore the history of Aldabra tortoises and take some pictures.
